About the Fundraiser

What began in 2001 over a glass of wine and heartfelt conversation, concluded with the founding of The First Annual Hydrocephalus Fundraiser. The inspiration, Travis Meyer.

Originally a pub night fundraiser, the committee has raised over $46,000 in just two events. With continued growth and community support, the direction of the event evolved from pub night to a dinner, dance & auction.

Through both live and silent auctions as well as the ever popular 50/50 draw, it has been with the support of many people, including those who attend and those who donate prizes, that the Hydrocephalus Fundraiser has been such a success.

The Annual Hydrocephalus Fundraising Committee is comprised of Bonnie Meyer, Clare Rance, Sandra MacKinnon and Sue Johnston. Warmheartedly known as “The Square”. Travis, the inspiration for this all, is Bonnie's son. Between the remaining 3 members, there are 8 children, all under 10 years of age.

The goals set out by the AHF Committee are to provide an evening of fun and entertainment for their supporters while at the same time raising a significant contribution for the Pediatric Neurosurgery Department of the BC Children's Hospital. This is their way of saying thank you for the wonderful care and support they have received from their friends at Children's Hospital.
